Anne Michael Maye, the wife of New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye, has quickly become one of the most talked-about figures of the NFL postseason.
It’s got little to do with her NFL star husband, though. Her refreshingly low-key charm and viral baking videos have propeled Ann into the spotlight.
As the Patriots push deeper into January football, her growing profile has struck a chord with fans well beyond New England, including supporters of the New York Jets.
At just 23 years old, Mrs Maye has amassed more than 440,000 followers on TikTok and another 323,000 on Instagram, where she shares approachable, home-style content ranging from cookie bars to cheddar jalapeño sourdough.
Her posts also feature needlepoint projects, mahjong boards, and candid moments that feel far removed from the polished influencer culture often associated with NFL spouses.
That authenticity has not gone unnoticed. Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, a self-confessed Patriots “super fan,” summed up her appeal succinctly.
“[She’s the] Queen of the North. Everyone loves her. She’s our girl,” Portnoy told The New York Post.
When asked what Maye is like away from the spotlight, Portnoy was equally direct in pushing back against common stereotypes.
“She is exactly how she seems. Very nice, very sweet,” Portnoy said. “She seems like a 100-percent normal woman.”
A postseason spotlight – and a personal touch
The timing of Maye‘s rise has coincided with a pivotal stretch for the Patriots, who are heading to the AFC Championship Sunday for the first time in seven years.
New England face the Denver Broncos at Empower Field at Mile High, with a Super Bowl berth on the line.
Even with the stakes at their highest, Maye has remained true to form. Ahead of the team’s flight, she baked custom game-day cookies decorated in blue and red M&M’s, a gesture shared publicly by Boston sports radio host Mike Riley on X.
It was a small detail, but one that reinforced her reputation as someone focused on supporting her husband and his teammates rather than curating a brand.
On the field, Drake delivered in a 28-16 AFC Divisional Game victory over the Houston Texans on January 18 at Gillette Stadium, marking the biggest win of his young career.
In the stands, Maye drew attention of her own, sporting a viral “I heart Drake Maye” sweatshirt paired with a faux fur coat – a moment that quickly circulated across social media.
If Drake were to guide the Patriots to a record seventh Super Bowl title in February, which would be their first since Tom Brady departed in 2020, it would cap a remarkable year for the couple.
When did Drake Maye and Ann Michael Maye meet?
They were married this past June at the Grandfather Golf and Country Club in the Blue Ridge Mountains of western North Carolina.
Maye wore a simple strapless gown, while Drake later shared his reaction on Instagram: “What a night! Cheers to forever. I love you!” he wrote.
Their story stretches back more than a decade. The two met at age 12 and later attended UNC Chapel Hill together.
In 2022, Drake was named ACC Player of the Year before leaving college early and becoming a first-round pick of the Patriots in 2024.
While Drake‘s football résumé continues to grow, Maye‘s appeal lies in her consistency. A former business major and member of the Kappa Delta sorority, she has maintained a grounded presence even as attention around her intensifies.
In a league often defined by spectacle, Anne has stood out by being herself and even rival fanbases can’t help but enjoy her work. The same can’t be said for Drake and his devastating throwing arm, however.
