Dodgers and Blue Jays will play in the 2025 MLB World Series. The Canadian team qualified for the Major League Baseball championship after reaching the World Series in 1993. Meanwhile, Los Angeles swept the National League Championship Series 4-0 against the Milwaukee Brewers after a wonderful performance by Shohei Ohtani in Game 4.

Toronto, which had lost the first two games of the series at home, completed a comeback that seemed unlikely: it won two of three in Seattle and then took Games 6 and 7 at Rogers Centre to secure its ticket to the World Series, where it will face the Los Angeles Dodgers starting Friday in Toronto. Springer punished reliever Eduard Bazardo with a drive that traveled all the way to left field when the Blue Jays were trailing 3-1.

Alejandro Kirk, Toronto catcher, the only Mexican in the World Series

Mexican baseball fans living in the United States will surely be keeping an eye on Alejandro Kirk, the Blue Jays catcher who will play in the World Series and has been able to make his presence felt with 127 hits, 15 home runs and a total of 76 RBIs in 130 games. Along with this, his batting average was .280 and an OPS of .769.

Kirk was born in Tijuana, is currently 27 years old and this will be his first World Series since joining the Blue Jays (2020). Throughout the playoffs, Alejandro was in charge of a record number of RBIs for a player of Mexican nationality with seven in the final number. He was also considered one of the best catchers in the American League and nominated for a Gold Glove.

Recently, the Tijuana native signed a five-year, $58 million contract extension, keeping him with the franchise until at least 2030. This is the first time a Mexican has reached the World Series after five years of absence.
