The 2026 World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada is just over nine months away from kicking off and what seemed a long way off is much closer than it feels, as on Thursday, June 11 next year, the Estadio Azteca (now called Estadio Banorte and for the tournament Estadio de la Copa del Mundo de la Ciudad de Mexico) will be the first stadium to host three inaugurations of the most important soccer tournament on Planet Earth when El Tri, surely coached by Javier ‘Vasco’ Aguirre, will have the honor of facing the first of 104 matches.
Ticket sales have not yet begun for the game at the ‘Coloso de Santa Ursula’ or for the other 103 ‘Super Bowls of soccer’, according to the Italian president of the Federation Internationale de Football Association (FIFA), Gianni Infantino, however, that is about to change.
When does registration for the 2026 World Cup ticket presale begin?
Starting tomorrow, Wednesday, September 10, 2025, registration will begin for the presale of VISA credit or debit cardholders in order to collect data and be entered into a draw where time windows will be enabled to individually purchase tickets for the aforementioned 104 games.
The registration process for this first phase of pre-sale, which will not be the only one, will take place from September 10 at 11:00 am ET, until Friday, September 19 at the same time. To register you have to create your ID at FIFA.com/tickets, register with that ID on the FIFA World Cup website, giving the details of your valid VISA bank card and follow the instructions to complete the process.
How much do individual tickets for the 2026 World Cup cost?
This process is free of charge and you must be over 18 years of age to participate. If you are selected in the draw, you will be notified by email and given a time slot to try to get your tickets from October 1, 2025. If there is availability in that window, you will be able to make the transaction, with prices ranging from $60 to $6,730, depending on the stadium, the area of the ticket and the stage of the match to be purchased.
It should be added that this would only be the first of two more pre-sale phases and a final phase of sale to the general public with different dates and characteristics each of them.
