Golden State Warriors fans are running out of patience – and Steve Kerr is taking the heat.

As training camps tip off across the NBA, the Warriors remain in disarray, entering with just nine players on the roster due to an ongoing stalemate with restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga.

While other franchises are fine-tuning rotations, Golden State is stuck waiting on Kuminga’s decision to sign his qualifying offer, which would make him their tenth man. Until then, the Warriors have been unable to pursue key free agents, leaving Dub Nation increasingly restless.

The frustration has boiled over onto Kerr, who just celebrated his 60th birthday. While the Warriors showered their longtime coach with well wishes, fans hijacked the moment to air grievances.

Fans blast Kerr

“Happy birthday, hope you wish for an ability to develop young talent,” one fan wrote. Another fumed, “Still running small ball lineup to the grave. Fire Kerr.”

Some are even questioning his future altogether. “Is bro 65 yet? What’s the age of retirement? I mean, thanks for 4 championships, but it’s time to let another coach transition with this aging core towards younger players,” another fan posted.

Kuminga’s frustration stems from inconsistent minutes under Kerr, despite flashes of promise – including a strong playoff run against the Timberwolves. The 21-year-old is believed to be seeking a fresh start, but the standoff has handcuffed the Warriors’ offseason.

Did the Warriors waste their summer?

The loss of Kevon Looney further thinned Golden State’s frontcourt, and while rumors suggest veteran big man Al Horford could be an option, no moves can be made until the Kuminga situation is resolved.

Instead, fans watched as the Warriors’ lone major addition was Seth Curry, leaving many to feel the team squandered the summer. “Spent the whole offseason doing nothing just to pick up Seth Curry,” one supporter complained.

For Kerr, who has four championships with Golden State, the pressure has rarely been higher. With an aging core and dwindling depth, fans are demanding answers – and perhaps even a new voice on the sidelines.
