The ring girl who went viral at the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight, Sydney Thomas, has described the sudden fame as “overwhelming” as the model’s popularity skyrocketed overnight at the AT&T Stadium on November 15.

Paul defeated Iron Mike by unanimous decision in a comfortable, but lacklustre fight, which resulted in Thomas becoming the star of the show as the 20-year-old attracted all the praise for her tanned skin, pearly-white smile, blonde hair and other ‘assets’.

And whilst she was already quite successful by being a model with over 400,000 fans on social media, she has described the newfound fame as “overwhelming” as her stocks exploded after her shift in Texas.

“I woke up to an overwhelming amount of love and support from all of you,” Thomas said via Instagram, with a heart emoji. “I can’t thank you guys enough.

“Or begin to express how grateful I am. I love you all – thank you for your kind words.”

The University of Alabama student also reacted via TikTok too, where she posted a video of her checking her phone in her white bed sheets and gasping at the amount of followers and what was being said about her.

“Waking up to see i’m trending for the tyson v paul fight,” Thomas posted to the short-form video platform, where she has over 800,000 fans. She later added, “Im happy you guys enjoyed the broadcast!!”

Thomas starstruck by Jake Paul

Thomas was joined by Raphaela Milagres, Virginia Sanhouse, Delia Sylvain and Lexi Williams to complete the ring girl teams as the fight became the most grossing non-UFC and non-Las Vegas fighting event ever.

And whilst the blonde might have been the highlight of the night for many fans watching the scrap on Netflix from their home television sets but she found herself starstruck by working alongside two names as big as Jake Paul and Mike Tyson.

“Getting the opportunity to step into the ring with @MikeTyson and @JakePaul for such a historic fight is something I never imagined I’d be able to say,” Thomas captioned a separate post. “Words can’t describe this moment.

“Or how grateful I am to be part of such an amazing team at @MostValuablePromotions. History was made, and I’m truly honored to have been a part of it.”
