The power a woman can have over a man is surprising, and all it takes is to see the influence of the “number one fan” of rookie Trey Yesavage, who ended up making history in Game 5 of the World Series, and now they travel back to Toronto where the Blue Jays will seek one more win to claim their first World Series title since 1993.
A special night for the rookie and his girlfriend
Heading into what was his second World Series start, in this Game 5, and one day after the Blue Jays tied the series against the Dodgers, Yesavage’s girlfriend predicted with an image that it would be a huge night. And she wasn’t wrong.
Taylor Frick shared a photo where she wrote “BEST DAY EVER.” Right on that day, the Blue Jays pitcher broke the record for strikeouts by a rookie in a World Series with his twelfth strikeout in the seventh inning.
He also became the first rookie in World Series history to strike out five batters consecutively.
Trey Yesavage, 22 years old, had only made four starts in MLB before the postseason, which makes his performance even more impressive. In the end, his girlfriend could only write that she was still crying in a post on her Instagram.
The series heads to Canada, where in Toronto it will be decided whether the Dodgers win back-to-back World Series championships, or the Blue Jays pull off the huge upset and become champions. One thing we’re sure of: the game Trey Yesavage pitched will be one he’ll never forget in his life.
