Travis Kelce proved how intimately he knows Taylor Swift once again, sending her fans crazy online, as the Kansas City Chiefs‘ star correctly managed to point out the difference between the music sensation’s original editions and re-released versions.
The moment came as the tight end and his brother, Jason, created a stir on social media this week while promoting their “New Heights” podcast, after landing the four-time NBA champion, Shaquille O’Neal.
The announcement of the Los Angeles Lakers’ legend was made through a teaser clip posted on the podcast’s official X.com (formerly Twitter) account, which featured Shaq playing Taylor Swift‘s 2012 hit I Knew You Were Trouble, a track he declared was his “favorite song in the world.”
However, what truly significant attention from fans was Kelce‘s enthusiastic reaction as the three-time Super Bowl champion sang along but also recognized the original version of the song, distinguishing it from Swift’s re-recorded Taylor’s Version”.
His spirited participation and clear familiarity with the track triggered an outpouring of support from Swift‘s fanbase. Many fans praised his open admiration for his Grammy-winning girlfriend as they headed online to react.
One user commented, “This man is loving her out loud. The noise you make haters are just useless whispers.”
A second said, “Idk how people hate him like all he does is show love and support for his girlfriend.”
And a third wrote, “He really charms me whenever he Swifties out. That’s the way it should be.”
The billionaire pop star has recently regained ownership of the master recordings of her first six albums in a deal reportedly valued at $360 million, a landmark moment in her quest to reclaim her own musical identity. Following the news, her 2017 album Reputation climbed to No. 1 on the iTunes chart.
Kelce’s stamina a question ahead of 2025/26 NFL season
As Kelce draws attention for his support of Swift, he also faces scrutiny ahead of what could be a pivotal 2025/26 season as the Chiefs look to reclaim their status as NFL champions from the Philadelphia Eagles.
Despite leading the Chiefs in most receiving categories last season, Kelce recorded only 823 yards and three touchdowns-both career lows. His performance in the Super Bowl LIX loss was particularly underwhelming, with just 39 receiving yards.
Determined to bounce back, he has reportedly shed 25 pounds during the offseason in pursuit of peak physical condition through an intense training camp in Florida and remains a key figure in head coach Andy Reid’s offensive scheme.
Alongside the likes of Rashee Rice, Marquise Brown, Xavier Worthy, and rookie Jalen Royals, Patrick Mahomes has a lot of weapons to play with and an ESPN analyst believes this could be a problem for the 35-year-old Kelce.
“Can I just say,” Hannah Storm told SportsCenter. “He’s got to keep up with his girlfriend, who can do a three-and-a-half-hour concert without skipping a beat.”
Although speculation surrounds whether 2025 will mark Kelce‘s final NFL season, fans are watching closely as Travis steps into another high-stakes season, on and off the field – but will his legs hold up?
