Travis Kelce played a behind-the-scenes role in helping Taylor Swift navigate a tense situation with actress Blake Lively, encouraging her to be cautious about the way Lively was communicating.

The development comes after private text messages between Lively and Swift were made public as part of Lively‘s ongoing lawsuit against former co-star Justin Baldoni.

In December 2024, Lively admitted she had been preoccupied with her own legal battles and felt like a “bad friend” to Swift.

“You said the word ‘we’ like 18 times,” Swift wrote, referencing a shift in Lively‘s tone.

“I just kinda miss my funny, dark, normal speaking friend who talks to me as herself, not like. A plural unit… When it’s a group I’m hearing from, I feel distanced from you even more than we are geographically.”

Swift reassured Lively, adding, “And you don’t need to apologize. Just come back please.”

Kelce’s guidance and support

According to insiders and as reported by The U.S. Sun, Kelce noticed the growing tension and advised Swift to address it directly.

Travis really loves Taylor and isn’t afraid to speak up if he thinks it’s in her best interest,” one source said.

“He felt Blake‘s behavior toward Taylor wasn’t right and encouraged her to address the situation head-on.”

Kelce reportedly did not express any personal dislike for Lively but wanted Swift to protect herself emotionally. His guidance gave Swift the confidence to communicate openly with Lively, establishing boundaries while staying honest.

The exchanged texts show Lively apologizing for being distant and overwhelmed, acknowledging Swift‘s support and patience.

The messages illustrate how the former best friends tried to navigate a complicated friendship amid a high-profile legal battle.

While the lawsuit continues, Kelce‘s involvement highlights his role as a supportive partner, offering advice and perspective when Swift needed it most.
