Shedeur Sanders made his debut as a starter for the Cleveland Browns the other day and his great performances have not gone unnoticed by anyone. He is getting all the praise from the NFL world, even coming from players from other teams, like Travis Kelce.

Even though they are ‘rivals’ on the pitch, the younger Kelce has never been shy about praising and giving good words about other football players, highlighting his passion for the sport despite who leaves a mark. On a recent episode of his “New Heights” podcast, Kelce cheered Sanders’ first start and win calling it a long-awaited moment for Browns fans and critics alike.

The 45th starting QB for the Browns since 1994. First Browns QB to win in his first official start since 1995. Cleveland’s been waiting for this. We’ve been waiting for this

Praise from one of the best

Shedeur’s game was indeed historical. He registered 11-of-20 completed passes for 209 yards, with one touchdown and one interception too. All of that was enough to break records.

My dog goes in, gets his first start, gets his first dub. Let’s go man

Even his brother and former Philadelphia Eagles player Jason Kalce joined the party, stealing Brian Clark’s words on the rookie, addressing that his performance was better than any of Dillon Gabriel’s:

I cannot wait to watch this week, that is for damn sure. Brian Clark said this, which I thought was really good. So I’m going to steal it. In one game Shedeur showed them more than they had seen really in any of the games with Gabriel, right? It wasn’t like he was out of this world. He was like 11 for 20 or something like that. Didn’t have amazing stats, but he made a couple of big plays

The rewarding praise Shedeur needed

It seems that after being head of criticism and scrutiny from media and fans, Shedeur is finally being considered as he should, a potential great. He had a good start, but now he must remain focused on keep delivering, as staying at the top is even harder than getting there.

He successfully balanced opportunity and patience, learning how to perform and act under pressure, in and outside the field. That is why important voices like the Kelces’ play a very influential role in Shedeur’s future, helping shape his confidence, momentum, and support.

As said, is now his turn to keep delivering game after game, proving his detractors wrong and giving more details of what he really is capable of. His next start will be another challenge to see if all of this was just luck, or the beginning of something great.
