With five touching photos, Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift announced their engagement on August 26, surprising millions of fans around the world. “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” they wrote.

Now, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end and the 14-time Grammy winner have announced an important decision regarding their wedding.

The agreement between Swift and Kelce

Despite having made the decision to join their lives by getting engaged, they have decided to distance themselves and remain separate in one sense: financially.

Both the NFL star and the multi-award-winning artist have managed to amass a large fortune thanks to their successful professional careers, sponsorships, collaborations, and businesses.

According to Forbes, Taylor has a fortune valued at $1.6 billion thanks to her songs, all her albums (after buying back the rights to her first six albums), and the historic “The Eras Tour.”

Meanwhile, Travis has $70 million that he has earned over his 12 years in the league, not counting what he will earn this season and extra non-sporting income such as endorsements and his podcast “New Heights,” which he hosts with his brother Jason.

With their future marriage in mind, it has been revealed that Kelce has decided to sign a simple prenuptial agreement with his fiancée in order to protect his assets and ensure the financial independence of both parties.

According to a report by Reality Tea, both parties agree on this point, and a source close to Swift confirmed it: “Travis gets that completely-he admires how driven she is and believes it’s important they both stay financially independent… There’s no jealousy here-he really respects how sharp she is when it comes to business.”

In addition, it was also revealed that the wedding could be delayed due to the work involved in finalizing this agreement, but this does not seem to bother the happy couple. They are both enjoying their time as “fiancé and fiancée,” and several sources close to the couple have even revealed that they are still getting used to the idea of these new titles.

Meanwhile, back to work, the 35-year-old singer just released her 12th album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” on October 3 and has been giving several interviews to promote it.

On the other hand, Travis and the Chiefs will face the Las Vegas Raiders again at home next Sunday, October 19, and will try to improve their 3-3 record.
