Even in the NBA offseason, LeBron James knows how to dominate headlines. After the Los Angeles Lakers‘ disappointing early exit from the 2025 NBA Playoffs, James has pivoted his focus to his off-court ventures.

And this weekend, he dropped something that had athletes and fans alike doing double takes.

The 39-year-old Lakers superstar debuted a new limited-edition timepiece in partnership with ultra-luxury Swiss watch brand Richard Mille, featuring his signature and personal logo.

LeBron‘s Instagram reveal showed off the intricate design of the bespoke piece, noting that only 150 units of the exclusive watch would be produced.

Unsurprisingly, the reaction was swift and loud. Among those dazzled by the watch was Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, who left a string of fire and spiral-eyed emojis in the comments. No words needed.

Kelce wasn’t the only big name starstruck by James>’ latest venture. The post drew engagement from an array of sports stars across leagues including Caitlin Clark, Satou Sabally, Kyle Kuzma, Tristan Thompson, and P.J. Tucker.

Meanwhile, stars like Anthony Davis, Lonzo Ball, and DeMar DeRozan hit the like button as the post spread rapidly across social media.

A luxury flex during a transitional summer for the King

LeBron‘s flashy off-court move comes at a pivotal moment in his career. After pairing up with Luka Doni this past season in what many hoped would be a title-contending tandem, the Lakers‘ early playoff ousting brought more questions than answers about their future. James has yet to officially commit to the 2025-26 NBA season and has left the door open to retirement or a potential team switch.

But off the court, he remains as active and calculated as ever. Beyond basketball, James has kept busy with his podcast Mind the Game, which he co-hosts with Hall of Fame point guard Steve Nash, delving into the intricacies of the game and its evolution. He’s also become a vocal supporter of the WNBA, showing love to Caitlin Clark in recent weeks both online and in the media.
