The year 2026 is shaping up to be one of redemption and definitive consolidation for Travis Hunter. After a rookie season with the Jacksonville Jaguars that left the league stunned but was abruptly interrupted by a lateral collateral ligament (LCL) injury in Week 9, expectations surrounding the young prodigy are astronomical. “He’s been asking me for a Cane Corso puppy for about a year and a half and I always said no, no, no; I’m not a big dog person. I’m more of a cat person, so I kept putting it off for a long time.”
However, Travis’ determination ultimately convinced her: “Finally, for Valentine’s Day, I thought: I’m going to go and get him one, because it will make him happy. It’s crazy because for the last two weeks he’s been asking me nonstop for a dog for his birthday.”
For Leanna, the arrival of the newest family member could shift the household dynamic: “I got him a 12-week-old female Cane Corso. She’s already huge, she looks big, so I’m nervous but also excited because there’s another girl in the house, and I live in a house full of boys.”
