The top of the 2025 NFL Draft is always subject to intrigue and speculation, but this year’s crop of players could shake up the NFL in unforeseen ways. There is no clear-cut #1 player in this year’s class, though the Tennessee Titans are trending toward selecting Miami quarterback Cam Ward with the first pick on April 24. After that, though? As veteran reporter Ed Werder pointed out on X/Twitter, Hunter is the only player in this draft who can address the Cowboys’ two biggest needs: a #2 option at wide receiver, and a #2 option at cornerback. But the cost of moving up to get him may not be one Jones is willing to pay in the end — which would prompt yet more frustration with his methods from expectant Cowboys fans, desperate for Dallas to end its 29-year Super Bowl drought.
