The rise of Travis and Jason Kelce’s New Heights podcast has been nothing short of meteoric. What started as two brothers talking football and life has turned into one of the most influential shows in sports media and now it’s heading to Amazon Prime.
The podcast’s popularity exploded after Travis Kelce’s relationship with pop icon Taylor Swift became public.
Swift‘s appearance on the show proved to be a cultural moment, as she revealed the name and cover art for her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, set to release on October 3.
The episode quickly went viral, pulling in 1.3 million concurrent streams on YouTube and briefly crashing the platform, a testament to the star power of both Swift and the Kelce brothers.
From Wondery to Amazon Prime
In August 2024, Travis and Jason struck a massive $100 million deal with Amazon’s Wondery, giving the company distribution rights to every New Heights episode, past and future.
But with Wondery later dissolved, Amazon shifted the show under its Creator Service division. Now, select episodes of New Heights will stream directly on Amazon Prime, joining a lineup that includes LeBron James‘ Mind the Game.
Despite the move, fans won’t lose access on other platforms. The Kelces will continue to post new episodes to YouTube, while the full library remains available across all major podcast services.
Success on the mic, struggles on the field
While Travis’ podcast career is thriving, his on-field season has been more turbulent. The Kansas City Chiefs stumbled early following their Super Bowl LIX defeat, with Kelce dropping a potential touchdown in a 20-17 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 2. The team bounced back with a 22-9 victory over the New York Giants, but questions still linger about the Chiefs’ offensive rhythm.
Meanwhile, New Heights is climbing the charts. The show currently ranks fifth among sports podcasts on Apple Podcasts and sits at 74th overall, proving its ability to reach beyond football fans and into mainstream culture.
For Jason, recently retired from the Philadelphia Eagles, and Travis, still battling through another NFL season, the podcast has become their joint stage to connect with millions.
