Tom Brady has shared a clip on his Instagram story of his oldest son, Jack Edward Thomas Moynahan, showing off his basketball skills.
The video was accompanied by a short but telling caption: “He got game 100.” Brady tagged Michigan Men’s Basketball and added a second message that sent Wolverines fans buzzing: “Future Wolverine.”
The post instantly fueled speculation about whether Brady envisions Jack joining Michigan’s storied basketball program one day.
For the Hall of Fame quarterback and seven-time Super Bowl winner, the moment was a nod to a school that has long been part of his identity.
Brady’s Michigan connection runs deep, and now it may include his son
This is far from the first time Brady has expressed admiration for Michigan basketball. In 2018, he famously FaceTimed then-head coach John Beilein ahead of the team’s Final Four run.
The Wolverines’ basketball history, highlighted by an NCAA Championship in 1989 and multiple Big Ten titles, has long earned Brady’s respect.
Brady‘s Instagram post also reflects Jack’s shifting athletic path. While Jack has played high school football at both quarterback and safety, his father has been candid about his son’s lack of pressure to follow in his footsteps.
In a November 2023 interview with People, Brady revealed Jack might be stepping away from the gridiron altogether.
“Yeah, he played this last year, and I don’t even know if he’s going to play next year,” Brady said. “And to be honest, whatever he chooses, I’ll be very happy. But he loves lacrosse… basketball’s probably his favorite sport, but he’s a very good student.”
That acknowledgment matches what fans have often seen: Brady spending quality time with Jack on the basketball court, sharing a passion for the game outside of football. It’s a bond that has grown stronger in recent years as Jack’s interest in hoops has taken center stage.
Brady‘s message to Michigan was brief, but for those who know his connection to the school, it spoke volumes. Whether or not Jack ultimately ends up in a Wolverines jersey, the post served as another chapter in the Brady-Michigan story, a legacy that might just add a basketball twist in the future.
