Mounir Nasraoui is Lamine Yamal’s father. He came to the fore because of the incident in which he was involved on August 14, 2024, when he suffered a stabbing. He was hospitalized for the wounds (three in total) that left him in a serious condition. It was then that an investigation was opened to find out the causes of what had happened. It is now that more details are known about what happened. The fight was in a street in Rocafonda, in the Mataro neighborhood, which ended with the stabbing of Yamal’s father.
It is only now that more details are known of what happened. Nasraoui had to appear a few days ago in the court of instruction 3 of Mataro not as a victim, but as a defendant. The aggressor’s defense argued that he acted by ‘mistake’ after taking the knife from one of Nasraoui’s friends and after receiving a punch that fractured his nasal septum.
According to the summary of the case accessed by La Vanguardia, in the sequence described, the alleged aggressors, two brothers, the father and a family friend, waited for the arrival of Mounir Nasraoui in the parking lot of the soccer field in the Rocafonda neighborhood.
The origin: a tub of water that got Nasraoui wet
The first attempt of the conflict was when Lamine Yamal’s father was walking alone along Franck Marsha Street and from a third floor of a building he was doused with water. It was a child playing with a basin. The family members went down to the street and there was the first argument. “This can’t be, man. I was walking quietly and they throw things at me. Either a good lawyer fixes it or we fix it later,” he told the police officers.
It was then that he decided to meet two friends from Mataro in Barcelona and, at night, they returned to the parking lot of the Rocafonda football field, where the aggression took place. The members of this family had from the beginning the extensible defense knife and a large stone: “Mounir ran, he (the one with the knife) comes behind him and stabs him. He stabs him two or three times in the chest and side.”
One of Lamine’s father’s friends said that Nasraoui “wanted to kill him. One was carrying a knife”. In addition, he made it clear that “he started to hit him as if he were an animal. He was going to kill him”.
After being convicted last December, the man was released with charges and continues to argue that they were the victims of Lamine Yamal’s father.
