For players, being part of the NFL Combine represents a crucial step toward their potential arrival at an NFL franchise.

There, scouts evaluate not only physical and technical skills but also personality, demeanor, and the way prospects conduct themselves.

For that reason, they must showcase every ability they possess with their feet and hands, yet equally important is their capacity to communicate their thoughts clearly, using the right words in high-pressure settings.

However, when someone has lived with a condition since childhood, this small but essential aspect can become decisive, not necessarily for scouts, but for people on social media who often hide behind anonymity and unleash fierce criticism from afar.

The case of KC Concepcion and his stutter

After participating in the NFL Combine, KC Concepcion received an enormous amount of criticism and mockery because of his stutter. Many who watched him did not hesitate to highlight the condition he has faced since he was a child.

For the 21-year-old player, letting that pass unaddressed was not an option. He decided to send a powerful message through his Instagram account, posting a story this past Sunday, March 1, 2026.

I just wanna say something, if you have a speech impediment there is nothing wrong with us.
