Everything is set for the Jacksonville Jaguars’ season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers at EverBank Stadium. Ahead of the game, head coach Liam Coen spoke with NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero about the crucial role quarterback Trevor Lawrence plays in his game plan.

He remembered the first time he saw Larence during his college days. “I wasn’t recruiting him at the time; I was at Brown University and had the chance to follow his career from a distance over the past few years,” he said. He went on to highlight Larence’s character: “Once you get to know him, you hear the humility in his approach and see the determination he carries, the drive to prove himself and show what he’s truly capable of.”

Coen praised Lawrence’s resilience, saying, “He’s obviously led one of the best playoff comebacks in NFL history. He’s mentally and physically tough.” Reflecting on the Jaguars’ recent playoff run, Coen emphasized the importance of supporting Lawrence, adding, “It’s about helping in a lot of different ways to give him the best opportunity to succeed.”
