What a novel has been made of Gervonta Davis against Lamont Roach Jr. last weekend at the Barclays Center. The controversial gesture made by ‘Tank’ in the ninth round, seems that it could be very expensive

At the time, nothing out of the ordinary happened, but it did affect the scorecards, because if the referee had ruled his knee to the canvas as a knockdown, the judges would have given the victory to his opponent.

Gervonta justified that he only went to his corner for a towel, as he had burning in his eyes from the hair product he used. A shower of boos was heard after his explanation, and to his misfortune, his own stylist came to his defense, admitting that she never used grease and asked him not to make excuses for his poor performance in the fight

The controversy seems to have reached another level, this time far away from the ring.
