Immediately after Carlos Mendoza was ejected from the game by the umpire after complaining about a strikeout to his compatriot and fellow Venezuelan Luis Torrens, the current starting catcher for the New York Mets, he kicked dirt towards home to dirty the plate.

Historically in baseball, managers kick dirt either toward home plate or toward the bases to dirty them after being ejected from a game as a silent protest, as if trying to tell the umpires you’re blind what game are you watching.
