One of the never-ending sagas of this preseason is without a doubt that of the Dallas Cowboys and Micah Parsons, who have not reached an agreement on a contract extension. The team’s defensive superstar is entering the final year of his contract and, with spectacular stats, is looking for a renewal. But it seems the team is either not interested or simply doesn’t want to pay him.

Micah Parsons wants to become the highest-paid non-quarterback player in the NFL, which means surpassing T.J. Watt’s contract. Watt signed a four-year extension worth $41 million annually, and Parsons wants to top that deal-and truthfully, he deserves it. In just 4 years, he has 52.5 sacks, an outstanding number.

However, the Cowboys have not had any negotiations with the player, which has fueled Parsons’ frustration. A few weeks ago, he blew up social media by requesting a trade, specifically posting it on his X account.

The Packers would be a strong candidate to land Micah Parsons

After the news went viral on social media, many potential suitors emerged for Parsons. And who wouldn’t want to have a two-time NFL First-Team All-Pro and four-time Pro Bowler? He’s arguably the best defensive player in the entire league.

Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, has stated that Micah Parsons will not leave the team. But with no deal in place, the player is growing increasingly desperate. That’s why NFL insider Ian Rapoport sees the Green Bay Packers as a good landing spot for the former Penn State star.

“I would expect the Packers to be among the teams most interested. They’ve already paid Jordan Love, they have a group of very talented young players, but there are some they haven’t paid yet. They have money to spend, and they are a really good team. So I would say that if Micah were to be traded, it would be to a team like that. They need one final piece. This guy is an absolute dog. He’s worth all the money, so pay him all the money… but it would be worth it, because you’re getting Micah Parsons,” said Rapoport.

It seems this story still has many chapters left, but time is running short. We are just three weeks away from the season kickoff, so there should be news about Micah Parsons soon.
