The Dodgers are coming off winning their second consecutive MLB title, but far from relaxing, the front office is keeping its eye on strengthening an already elite roster in order to extend its dominance in Major League Baseball and establish itself as a team of the era.

Among their possible moves for this winter is a name that could blow up the market: Jarren Duran, the speedy and explosive outfielder for the Boston Red Sox.

The Los Angeles team, which is characterized by its aggressiveness and depth in signings, would be ready to put on the table a package of prospects that combines talent, projection and a lot of potential.

Why do the Dodgers want Jarren Duran?

Although the Dodgers have invested heavily in pitching, with recent additions such as Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Roki Sasaki and Tyler Glasnow, the team has one area that became more apparent during 2025: the gap in left field.

The offense retains stars such as Shohei Ohtani, Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman, but needs to add speed and dynamism.

That’s where Duran comes in, a player who combines moderate power, reliable defense and elite speed, qualities that fit perfectly into Los Angeles’ system. His 2024 season, where he was an All-Star and led the American League in doubles and triples, makes him a more than attractive target.

The ideal package the Dodgers would offer the Red Sox

The Dodgers possess one of the richest farms in MLB, even after several windows of aggressive moves. To get Duran, a possible package could include four high-profile prospects:

  • Zhyir Hope (LAD No. 2 prospect) – Explosive outfielder, one of the players with the highest ceiling in the organization.
  • Eduardo Quintero (No. 3 prospect) – Another impactful outfielder with great discipline at the plate.
  • Ching-Hsien Ko (No. 10 prospect) – Infielder with projection as a starter in MLB.
  • Patrick Copen (No. 17 prospect) – Right-handed pitcher with solid tools to become a starter.

For Boston, who are in a restructuring phase and looking for future depth, this package represents immediate and long-term talent.

Duran’s impact on a luxury offense

Adding Duran to the lineup would further strengthen an already intimidating core. His ability to generate extra bases, steal bases and cover wide spaces in the outfield would make him the ideal complement to Ohtani and Betts. In addition, his energy and dynamism would add a sparkle to a team looking to become a modern dynasty.

With an eye on a historic three-peat, the Dodgers could surprise the market once again. And if this organization has shown anything in recent years, it is that when they want a player, they rarely go home empty-handed.
