Erin Andrews has established herself as one of the great figures of the NFL from the sidelines, reporting everything that happens with the teams she is assigned to cover. Her face is one of the most recognizable for fans and also for those who do not follow the league every Sunday or whenever a game is played.
The reporter knows her business very well. She is always highly prepared with all the information necessary to explain what is happening when a player gets injured or when something develops on the benches during a game.
Her presence on broadcasts has become one of the most familiar elements of NFL coverage. Andrews built her reputation through years of preparation, quick reactions during live moments, and the ability to communicate important updates clearly to viewers watching at home.
Recently, on her podcast, she spoke about a moment in which she truly had a difficult experience when she had to interview the man who is now considered the goat of the NFL, Tom Brady. Today she remembers that episode with a very different feeling compared with what she experienced at the time.
The moment occurred early in her career, when she was still adjusting to the pressure of speaking with some of the biggest stars in the sport. Facing one of the most iconic quarterbacks in football history made the situation even more intimidating for her.
Erin Andrews talks about the awkward moment she experienced with Tom Brady
Erin shared this anecdote on Friday, March 13, 2026, during the most recent episode of the podcast Calm Down while speaking with Chris Godwin, a former teammate of Tom Brady with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Meeting Tom Brady for the first time, I was so nervous.”…”I was actually doing a sit down interview and I didn’t want to smile because my lips were shaking and I didn’t want him to see that. So I just had a serious look. And then afterwards I cried because I knew it looked like an idiot.
After recalling that experience, she asked the wide receiver whether he had ever felt intimidated or nervous when he first met Brady.
Were your lips shaking?
Andrews questioned him.
I think it might be a little strange.”…”He’s looking at me like, ‘CG, what’s going on?’ I kind of like — it’s almost like you seem like a unicorn.
Godwin replied.
Like how the hell do you look that good and not have wrinkles?
She said.
Yeah, I don’t know if that was my thought, to be honest.
Today, both personalities maintain a good relationship because they now see each other frequently due to Brady’s new role following his legendary playing career. The seven-time Super Bowl champion is now involved in the world of NFL broadcasts, which has allowed him to interact regularly with journalists and analysts who cover the league.
