The Kansas City Chiefs will return to a new season looking to continue their dominance in the NFL, but not without having participated in five of the last six Super Bowls, and without demonstrating on the basis of victories that they are one of the most consistent.
Everyone knows that there is a lot of work to do this off-season, and despite being defeated in the last Super Bowl, they are still the team to beat in their division. At least that’s how they see it.
The Chiefs are the team to beat in the AFC North.
No one can ignore the Chiefs with Patrick Mahomes. Of course they will be the center of attention this 2025, and although they are a totally different version, CBS Sports’ Jordan Dejani puts them as the team to beat after their moves in free agency.
It’s no secret that Andy Reid has lost some of his best players at this stage of the year, but they are still the best in their conference.
“Brett Veach quickly selected Moore as Patrick Mahomes’ new left tackle, and then [Kristian] Fulton and [Elijah] Mitchell could be important, underrated players if they stay healthy,” Dejani said. “The Chiefs have had a solid preseason since finding a way to retain Trey Smith and Nick Bolton. There’s still work to be done, but the Chiefs have made the Super Bowl three years in a row, and I’m not ready to take the top spot in the AFC away from them.”
The Chiefs are likely to once again be the team to beat in the NFL every week, despite not being the defending Super Bowl champions, and beware that they have a revenge season after losing in such fashion that last game to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Now, the Chiefs are on a mission to continue to stockpile talent in their ranks, because the reputation is already there. Let the season begin, and play by play prove that they are back.
