It has been a week to forget for power couple Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce, as both suffered unexpected professional setbacks on the biggest stages of their careers. Just one week after Swift left the Grammy Awards empty-handed, Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs fell to the Philadelphia Eagles in a crushing 40-22 loss at Super Bowl LIX.
While Swifties mourned both disappointments, some fans think they’ve uncovered a surprising connection-one that may have doomed both outcomes.
The ‘cursed’ T necklace theory
In a viral theory sweeping social media, Swifties believe Taylor Swift‘s signature ‘T’ necklace may be cursed.
The bejewelled pendant, designed by celebrity jeweler Lorraine Schwartz, was worn by Swift at both the Grammys and the Super Bowl-two events that ended in crushing disappointment.
At the Grammys, Swift fashioned the ‘T’ pendant into her sparkling red dress, a nod to her songs “Guilty as Sin” and “Call It What You Want”.
One week later, as she cheered on Kelce from her VIP suite, she wore the same gold rosary chain adorned with rubies, this time as a necklace.
“All I know is that the T is cursed, and as much as I love it, I never wanna see it again,” a fan said, with the post amassing over 13,000 likes.
A user replied: “It’s so beautiful, but I need it dropped into the deepest part of the ocean.”
As if the ‘T’ necklace theory wasn’t enough, some fans predicted the Chiefs‘ loss before the Super Bowl-based on Swift‘s Grammy disappointment.
The Chiefs entered the game with a chance to make history, aiming to become the first team to win three consecutive Super Bowls.
Meanwhile, for the Eagles, the game served as a long-awaited revenge match after their loss to Kansas City in Super Bowl LVII.
