Shedeur Sanders‘ first season ended in an unexpected way. Few people thought the young quarterback would eventually get meaningful snaps, but the reality is that he finished as a starter and did a very solid job. He was the QB with the most wins among the three used by the Cleveland Browns, even though his future with the Browns currently looks very uncertain.
But before getting into how uncertain the outlook for Shedeur Sanders could become, it’s worth noting that-at least on social media-the Browns certainly ended the hype around their young player in the best possible way.
A video to remember, with Shedeur Sanders’ future up in the air
Just days before the season ended, the team’s official account recalled Shedeur Sanders’ final drive-one that ended in a victory for the Cleveland Browns, the third of his career since his days with the Colorado Buffaloes.
The Bengals took the lead, and the Browns received the ball at their own 29-yard line with 1:23 left on the clock. Shedeur Sanders led the offense to get Szmyt into field-goal range, who had missed an extra point and a field goal in Cleveland’s Week 1 loss to Cincinnati.
The Cleveland Browns ended up winning, but a few days later they decided to part ways with Kevin Stefanski. And amid these changes within the team, general manager Andrew Berry would not commit to saying that Shedeur Sanders will be the starting quarterback in 2026.
So the saga at this quarterback position is far from over, even though Coach Prime’s son has shown he can lead this Browns offense. Maybe the Cleveland Browns have other plans, but we will always remember a strong rookie season from Shedeur Sanders.
