Taylor Swift has revealed that her now fiancé, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, was the one who designed the engagement ring he presented to seal their union. While promoting her new album, the singer shared the story during an interview with a local London radio station, recounting how the ring came to be.
Back in August, Kelce proposed to Swift in a flower-filled setting, choosing that romantic moment to get down on one knee and ask for her hand. Unsurprisingly, her answer was an emotional “yes.”
He designed it with this amazing jeweler, Kindred Lubeck. She does all of her gold engraving by hand.
Swift explained during the interview while discussing her latest release, The Life of a Showgirl.
The design of the ring
Swift recalled that more than a year earlier she had shown Kelce a video featuring designer Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry. The brand’s pieces typically range from $17,000 to $40,000.
I had shown him a video [that] I just thought was so cool,” Swift said. “I had shown him a video a year and a half ago, and he was just paying attention to everything, it turns out.
The pop star admitted she was left breathless upon seeing the final design, realizing Kelce had remembered and acted on something so personal to her.
When I saw the ring, I was just, like, [gasping],” she recalled. “I was like, ‘I know who made that! I know who made that! And also, you listen to me.’ He did amazing, it was, like, ‘You really know me.’
Swift added.
I didn’t know what I would want, but he did somehow, and that’s kind of a flex.
Her words highlighted not only the effort Kelce put into creating something deeply meaningful, but also the strength of the bond they have built away from the spotlight.
Travis Kelce focused on football
While Swift begins promoting her new record, Kelce remains focused on what could be his final NFL season. After a rocky start, the Chiefs have found their footing, evening their record at 2-2. Their next challenge looms on Monday, when they face the Jacksonville Jaguars in a tough Week 5 matchup.
Kelce’s early performances this season have not been as dominant as in previous years, leading to speculation. Some wonder whether his mind is divided between football and wedding plans, while others suggest his body is finally signaling the wear of a long career.
This is his thirteenth season in the league, and the toll is clear. In fact, 2025 was widely expected to be his swan song. Yet, after the Chiefs fell short in last year’s Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles, Kelce is determined to make one final push for redemption before walking away from the game.
