After the crushing defeat in Super Bowl 59, there was a lot of uncertainty about Travis Kelce’s return to the field with the Chiefs next season. At 35 years old, he had a season to forget, statistically speaking. Kelce posted career lows in yards (823) and touchdowns (3) since his rookie season, and he wasn’t the same difference-maker he had been in the Chiefs’ previous Super Bowl runs, catching just one touchdown and having career lows when he plays more than two games in the postseason. As a first-ballot Hall of Famer, it was clear that Kelce didn’t want to retire on such a bitter note. That’s why he announced he’d be back – and not only that, but in much better physical shape, sending a message to the league. Plus, he has one year left on his contract with $17 million guaranteed. It’s not like he needs the money, especially with Taylor by his side, as she had the highest-grossing tour in history, raking in over $2 billion during nearly two years of concerts worldwide.

Taylor Swift Name in a Scam

As reported, the Taylor tour was a real success, but some news has come to the air as two individuals have been arrested in New York for orchestrating a ticket scam that defrauded fans out of nearly 1,000 tickets! including many for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. Tyrone Rose, 20, of Jamaica, and Shamara P. Simmons, 31, of the Jamaica section of Queens, it looks like a joke, but it is not. Rose and Simmons allegedly exploited a vulnerability in StubHub’s system to access and resell previously purchased tickets, hacking part of the matrix. Their scheme, which ran from June 2022 to July 2023, reportedly generated $635,000 in illicit profits. Aside from Swift’s tour, they also targeted tickets to Adele and Ed Sheeran concerts, NBA games, and the US Open, mostly events in New York where tickets are a little too expensive. Both suspects have been charged with grand theft, computer tampering and conspiracy, which could result in prison sentences ranging from three to 15 years if convicted.

Prosecutors allege that Rose and Simmons used stolen ticket links to relist and sell them for profit, taking advantage of high-demand events. Despite the serious nature of their crimes, New York State law does not allow for bail on these charges, prompting the judge to release them ahead of their next court appearance on March 7. Rose, who was in the city as a visitor, was ordered to surrender his passport. Authorities warn that such scams prey on devoted fans and underscore the need for stronger safeguards in online ticket sales. Given the nature of the demand for these events, there will always be those who take advantage of the moment, but sometimes even the resale sites themselves can ally themselves with the likes of Simmons and Rose, but when they get caught, as they have now, there always has to be a scapegoat.

Mind you, this is not the first time a Taylor Swift concert has been scammed, in Toronto in November 2024 a woman was arrested for allegedly selling counterfeit tickets to Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Toronto. In London, where Travis attended the show, Lloyds Bank reported that more than £1 million was lost by customers who were scammed when buying tickets for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. So remember the basics when buying tickets and only buy from the venue, the promoter, an official agent or a reputable ticket exchange site. If not, you are exposing yourself to the bad people.

Taylor and Travis Off-Season Holidays

Obviously Taylor has nothing to do with this other than the fact that the tickets they sold were from her sold-out concerts, because she obviously loses a lot more than she makes if she gets caught. 600,000 may sound like a lot to us, but to Taylor, who is a billionaire, it means a little. The interesting thing is what she would do now that the tour is over and Travis’ season is over until September. Of course they’ll travel and spend some time together now that they can and their busy schedules allow it. Remember there were rumors that they’d be engaged by now if Travis won the Super Bowl and became the first three-peat in NFL history, but that’s now in the past and for some people 35 might be old enough to get married and start a family, but it seems they’re in no rush for that with Jason Kelce’s four children the uncles seem happy for now.
