The two-week wait in late January and early February between the conference championship games and the Super Bowl feels as long as the wait for the season to start in late August and early September. If we as fans are anxious to get to the game, I can’t imagine how the players feel – they have to stay 100% focused and relaxed at the same time, especially the Chiefs, who are going to their fifth Super Bowl in the last six years, an unprecedented feat in the NFL. One player who seems calm is Travis Kelce, who appeared as usual on his weekly podcast, “New Heights“, alongside his brother, Jason.

Unexpected “Conflict” Caused by Taylor

In this episode, Travis confirmed that Taylor Swift listens to the podcast every week and not only gives feedback, but also congratulates the entire production team working behind the scenes. Many times the final product we see on the screen is the result of a lot of behind-the-scenes work that often goes unnoticed. – just like at Taylor’s concerts, where she always makes sure to acknowledge her entire team after each show. Now, going back to “New Heights“, Swift’s positive comments unexpectedly created a “problem” on the show when an intern jokingly said, “I’m going to be obnoxious, do you know who the f** you’re talking to?

I love how he wrapped it up by saying, “I’m going to be narcissistic from now on, and I’m sorry for anyone who has to see it.” Of course, young intern, I’m sure hundreds or even thousands of people would react the same way if Taylor Swift personally acknowledged them. He later clarified that her comments were directed at the entire production team behind the show. Without a doubt, the podcast has been a huge success, and I think it would break the Internet if Taylor ever made a guest appearance. If her relationship with Travis continues to grow and the Chiefs win the Super Bowl, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Taylor on the show in the near future.

Kelce’s Future After the Super Bowl

Coming into the AFC Championship Game, Kelce held the NFL record for 14 straight playoff games with over 70 receiving yards, but the Bills focused entirely on shutting him down, limiting him to just two catches for 19 yards. That poor performance must have Kelce and Andy Reid already working on a game plan to maximize Kelce against an Eagles defense that allowed Zach Ertz to record 11 catches for 104 yards in the NFC Championship Game. But the big question many are asking is: what will happen to Travis Kelce after the season?

Kelce is still under contract for next season, so I doubt he will retire even if the Chiefs complete the historic three-peat. However, his future seems to be set after football, whether as a family man, a TV host like his recent appearance on “Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?” or even as a coach. As Coach Reid himself said, “He would make a hell of a football coach.
