Taylor Swift aims to combat the humanitarian disaster in Los Angeles by donating to 10 organizations and charities, following a devastating series of wildfires sweeping the Southern Californian city.

The 211 LA charity, California Community Foundation Fund, Direct Relief, Greater Los Angeles Education Foundation and Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles all received donations from her.

She also gave money to the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation, Los Angeles Regional Food Bank, Los Angeles Unified School District Education Foundation Emergency Relief Fund, MusiCares, and the Pasadena Educational Foundation Eaton Fire Response Fund.

“These are the organization I’ve donated to,” Swift said via Instagram, although she didn’t specify the amount. “If you feel compelled or able to donate, please do.”

Her gesture comes in the middle of the crisis following the breakout of wildfires on Tuesday, January 7. As many as seven blazes raged at one point, but the number has since fallen to three after strenuous and monumental efforts.

The two largest, Pacific Palisades and Eaton, are still ongoing as of January 16. Combined, the infernos have killed over 25 people and displaced over 200,000. It has gone on to destroy over 12,000 buildings and 40,000 acres of land.

In light of the disaster, several celebrities have spoken up or donated to try to help citizens find their feet. LeBron James revealed how tough it has been on his family in a gesture of solidarity, whilst Beyonce donated over a million dollars in support and now so has Swift.

“Direct Relief is deeply grateful to Taylor Swift,” CEO Dr. Byron Scott said in a statement. “For her extraordinary generosity and support for its wildfire response efforts.

“Her compassion and commitment to communities across Southern California impacted by these devastating fires is inspiring.”

Along with the donation, Swift also encouraged her other 282 million+ Instagram followers to donate and give to the charitable funds, causes and organizations she selflessly listed.

But on a personal note, she also expressed her deep sadness to the families for what they have gone through in an emotional gesture to the victims of the disaster.

“The fires in California have devastated so many families,” Swift wrote via Instagram Stories. “And it’s been heartbreaking to see these stories unfold. So much suffering, loss and destruction.

“As so many people embark on some of the most challenging times of their lives, there are also many amazing organizations and groups banding together to help these communities rebuild.”
