As the Kansas City Chiefs prepare for their third consecutive Super Bowl appearance, tight end Travis Kelce is taking a moment to appreciate Taylor Swift‘s unique ability to connect with people. On the January 29 episode of his New Heights podcast with his brother Jason Kelce, Travis shared a heartwarming story about how Swift made a lasting impression on his friends.
The conversation took place as the Kelce brothers welcomed guests Brandon Borders and Jake Chatzky, affectionately known as Intern Brandon and Jets Jake on the show.
The duo had been invited to watch the Chiefs’ AFC Championship victory over the Buffalo Bills from the VIP suite at Arrowhead Stadium, where they got a surprise introduction to Taylor Swift.
Their interaction with the pop superstar left them stunned. Brandon recalled their first moments in the suite.
“We walked in the door, and – I’ll give this away – she said our names immediately. It was like, ‘Oh my God. Brandon, Jake, finally!’ We were floored,” Brandon said.

Taylor Swift’s natural gift
Swift‘s effortless charm caught both Brandon and Jake off guard. The two, admittedly nervous about meeting the music icon, were immediately put at ease.
Travis chimed in with pride, acknowledging Swift’s talent for making people comfortable.
“She knows how to break the ice. She does. She’s a pro at it,” he noted.
Brandon humorously suggested that Swift had sensed their nerves, comparing their awkwardness to a middle school dance.
“Probably read that Jake and I were terrified,” he joked. “She’s like, ‘I’m sensing a lot of middle school dance energy from these two.'”
The interaction wasn’t just about casual introductions. Swift also took a moment to compliment the New Heights podcast, confirming that she listens regularly.
“She gave us some creative compliments,” Brandon said. “Let me be very clear. You can’t tell me s**t for the rest of my f***ing life. I’m gonna be obnoxious. I’m like, do you know who you’re f***ing talking to? We’re doing performance reviews at work, and we tell you something right now. F***ing I’m not listening to a goddamn thing for another six years.”
