Taylor Swift broke down in tears when telling Travis she had officially bought back her master recordings from Shamrock Capital this past May. She recounted sharing the news in a very private moment; Travis was playing video games when she ran into his arms “like dead weight”, overwhelmed with emotion.

On the New Heights podcast, she revealed how intrusive thoughts about not owning her own music weighed on her daily until the moment she reclaimed it. She credited her family, specifically her mom and her brother, for spearheading the negotiations, choosing to approach the deal emotionally rather than as a cold business transaction.

Calling New Heights her “favorite podcast”, Swift joked it helped her get a boyfriend, referencing how Travis first made his move over a friendship bracelet. She also recalled how their relationship first blossomed through that iconic shout-out. Beyond the emotional milestone, Swift also used the episode to announce her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl.

She unveiled it by presenting a mint-green briefcase marked “T.S.” to the Kelce brothers; inside was a vinyl copy of the album with a blurred cover. The episode brough massive attention, fans and media alike flocked to stream the moment, whoch boasted record-breaking social engagement.
