Taylor Swift is marking another career milestone with her song Opalite reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, a feat adding to her streak as the world’s top-selling artist for 2025, confirmed by the IFPI for the fourth year in a row.

The achievement comes just days after the release of the Opalite video on February 6, and Swift celebrated by sharing a reel of behind-the-scenes clips, from studio sessions to filming moments. Fans quickly responded with enthusiasm.

“Just a few memories of Opalite to celebrate #1 on the Hot 100,” Swift said online. “You guys just had this song! I can’t even summarize my excitement, and I’m impressed by the love they have shown to this song and video.

The No. 1 milestone also marked a personal first for Swift: “To put this in perspective… This is actually the first time I’ve had two Hot 100 #1s from an album since my album 1989 came out in 2014, almost twelve years ago!

“I know it’s a lot of numbers, but it all adds up and it makes me very grateful to the fans who helped make this happen by welcoming this song into their lives with open arms. Seriously, I’m bouncing off the walls with this!

“I just wanted to say THANK YOU. I might go buy a giant pretzel at the mall to celebrate, iykyk.”

Celebs star in Opalite music video

Opalite now joins 14 previous Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hits, placing Swift behind only The Beatles (20) and Mariah Carey (19) in career chart leaders. The track debuted at No. 2 last October, gaining momentum through video releases and remixes.

And the Opalite music video, released on Apple Music and Spotify, features celebrity cameos including Cillian Murphy, Domhnall Gleeson, Greta Lee, Jodie Turner-Smith, and singer Lewis Capaldi, blending music and Hollywood charm.

During the October 2025 interview, she sat alongside Murphy, Gleeson, Lee, Turner-Smith, and Capaldi, and their playful banter sparked the concept for the video.

The idea for the Opalite music video crash landed into my imagination,” Swift said. “When I was doing promo for The Life of a Showgirl. I was a guest on one of my favorite shows, @TheGrahamNortonShowOfficial.

“Domhnall made a light hearted joke about wanting to be in one of my music videos. He’s Irish! He was joking! Except that in that moment during the interview, I was instantly struck with an idea.

“To my delight, everyone from the show made the effort to time travel back to the 90’s with us and help with this video. You might even recognize some friendly faces from The Eras Tour.”

Through her latest milestone and creative video, Swift continues to celebrate achievements with fans and loved ones alike, blending chart-topping success with personal, joyful moments as her wedding to Travis Kelce approaches.
