Stephen Curry has endured a season filled with injuries that have repeatedly kept him away from NBA courts. The star guard has not been able to maintain consistency throughout the 2025-26 season.

This situation places the Golden State Warriors in a difficult position as they attempt to remain serious contenders in the Western Conference and fight for a spot in the postseason. Time is running out to secure victories, and without Curry, the challenge becomes significantly more complicated.

The elite three-point shooter is dealing with an ankle injury, and it had been expected that he might return to play games by the end of this week. However, the latest news from within the team has not been encouraging.

Stephen Curry will have to wait longer to return

This is an update on Stephen Curry’s status that Warriors fans on the West Coast will certainly not enjoy hearing. The reality is that he will not be able to return as soon as many had hoped.

Curry will have to wait at least ten more days as he continues his recovery from the knee issues that have been troubling him. The team currently holds a 32-22 record and is fighting to remain within the play-in positions.

According to information shared by the franchise, Curry continues dealing with patellofemoral pain syndrome and bone bruising in his right knee. The update was revealed by the organization on Wednesday, March 11, 2026.

The statement also added that Stephen continues working through his recovery process and has been training individually. Gradually, he has increased his workload while continuing to rehabilitate the knee.

So far, he has already missed 15 games due to this health issue, and the impact has clearly been reflected in the team’s results. The Warriors look like a completely different team when he is not on the floor.

The record during the games played without their superstar stands at 5-10, leaving the team hovering around the .500 mark since last December. Without his presence, the Warriors have already dropped a position in the Western Conference standings of the NBA. They were previously eighth but have now fallen to ninth place.

The Los Angeles Clippers have taken that spot. Although there is still time to recover ground, if the Warriors do not accelerate their push soon, their opportunities to secure a postseason berth could begin slipping away.

Stephen Curry has struggled significantly with injuries

The Warriors’ legendary shooter has described the injury as unpredictable. While there has been progress, the recovery seems to fluctuate from day to day.

I’m feeling better. This is a weird one. It’s kind of unpredictable for how it will heal.”…”Every day since All-Star weekend has been progress; that’s all I can ask for, and hopefully I’m back out there soon… I haven’t gotten on the court yet, but just trying to stay in shape and strengthen everything else around my body, knowing that at this stage, once you get back, it’s a full sprint to the playoffs.
