The Dallas Cowboys have yet to make a major move to add another wide receiver alongside CeeDee Lamb. However, they could land a game-changing playmaker in the second wave of free agency.

USA Today’s Cory Woodroof recently predicted that the Cowboys could sign veteran receiver Stefon Diggs. “The Cowboys need a good receiver to pair opposite of CeeDee Lamb, and Diggs could stay in Texas and return to the NFC to help Dallas contend for the division,” Woodroof wrote.

Diggs would add firepower to the Cowboys’ offense

Diggs, a four-time Pro Bowler, has been one of the league’s most consistent wide receivers in recent years. Before suffering an ACL injury, he recorded 496 yards and three touchdowns in just eight games last season. From 2018 to 2023, Diggs surpassed 1,000 receiving yards every year, proving his ability to deliver high-level performances.

The receiver also led the league in receptions and receiving yards in 2020, earning All-Pro honors. If healthy, he could be a perfect complement to Lamb and give quarterback Dak Prescott another elite target downfield.

A family reunion in Dallas?

One key factor that could sway Diggs toward Dallas is the opportunity to play alongside his younger brother, Cowboys cornerback Trevon Diggs. The idea of teaming up could make Dallas an appealing destination for the star receiver, who is looking to prove he can still perform at a high level after his injury.

With 10,491 career receiving yards and 70 touchdowns, Diggs has the experience and talent to take pressure off Lamb and open up the Cowboys‘ passing attack. Adding him to the mix could give Dallas its most dynamic receiving trio since Amari Cooper was with the team.

Diggs is projected to sign a one-year, $13 million contract, making him a potential bargain for a team looking to make a deep playoff run. If the Cowboys are serious about bolstering their offense, signing Diggs could be a game-changing move.
