The Indiana Fever have faced their setbacks this season, but their teammates’ bonds continue to stand out as a recent exchange between Sophie Cunningham and Caitlin Clark illustrated the connection the two guards share.

Clark, in just her second WNBA season, has emerged as the centerpiece of Indiana’s rebuild as the 23-year-old guard not only carries the expectations of leading her team into playoff contention but is also establishing her personal brand off the court.

This week, she unveiled her official Nike signature logo for the first time, part of a signature line scheduled for release in 2026, describing the moment as, “The beginning of a lot of amazing things to come.”

Whilst many rushed to react to the news, it was the comment from her 29-year-old colleague that truly stood out as Cunningham showed how support within the locker room goes beyond the results on the floor.

“I’d like one of those necklaces cause I’d like to support you. More of a diamonds on my type support than a cotton t kinda girl,” Sophie wrote, light-heartedly highlighting the camaraderie within the Fever roster.

So, while Clark continues to shine on the court and Cunningham is forced to recover from injury, the exchange reflected the bond of teammates who remain invested in one another’s success.

Sophie wasn’t the only Fever player rushing to react either as the duo’s fellow Indiana guard, Lexie Hull, commented, “So proud of you.”

Clark‘s signature line marks a significant moment in her career, building on her rise as one of the league’s most marketable stars – continuing the path she began when she penned a $28m deal with Nike.

She has averaged 16.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 8.8 assists per game, numbers that place her among the league’s most versatile guards but has been injured since July and continues to try to recover in time for the WNBA Playoffs.

A postseason appearance won’t be possible for Cunningham after her season-ending MCL injury, and she was putting up strong numbers too as she posted averages of 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists.

Cunningham steals Clark’s spotlight

Cunningham‘s presence has remained strong even off the court, with her social media posts continuing to capture attention as she posted a striking photo posing in a cowboy hat, boots, and jacket.

Taken in front of a matte black truck, she paired the outfit with a black thong showing off her rear end and proving that she doesn’t skip training her glutes in the gym day, highlighting her confidence.

“Back when my knee was healthy,” Cunningham wrote and the post quickly went viral, surpassing 130,000 likes and drawing thousands of comments from fans praising her look – including from Clark who wrote, “Jeez Sophie. Can’t like this.”
