As every year, the big question mark of each NFL season is who will be crowned Super Bowl champion.
Analysts, journalists, and fans try to answer this big question, and Indiana Fever Caitlin Clark’s teammate, Sophie Cunningham, is no exception and already has her favorite.
Sophie does not choose the Colts as her Super Bowl contender
Cunningham was having a solid first season with the Indiana Fever, but suffered a torn LCM in her right knee, ending her year in August with averages of 8.6 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 30 games. However, she continues to follow the world of sports, not just basketball.
Now, in a new episode of her podcast “Show Me Something,” which she hosts alongside West Wilson, the 29-year-old point guard ruled out the Indianapolis Colts and predicted that Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes’ team will win the Vince Lombardi Trophy, after being asked by a listener and fan of the podcast:
“Chieeeeeeeeeeeeefs,” Sophie replied at the same time as West.
Wilson argued that Andy Reid’s team has been dominant, recalling that in the last six seasons, the Chiefs had reached the Super Bowl in five of them. He also mentioned the local NFL team, the Fever, the Colts, who lead the AFC South with an 8-2 record. On that note, Sophie didn’t ignore the injuries, stating:
“I don’t know what’s going on in freaking Indie, but like it is the injury bug is high and heavy over there. So hopefully the Colts stay away. Hopefully it’s just the basketball world,” she said.
Not only did the Indiana Fever suffer several injuries, but so did the NBA’s Indiana Pacers. The team led by Stephanie White suffered the loss for the rest of the season of Caitlin Clark, Sophie Cunningham, Damiris Dantas, Sydney Colson, Aari McDonald, and Chloe Bibby.
Meanwhile, Andrew Nembhard, Tyrese Haliburton, T.J. McConnell, Bennedict Mathurin, and Obi Toppin were among the Pacers’ injured players.
Meanwhile, Kansas City’s next game will be a special one. Although the Chiefs (5-4) are playing away against the Denver Broncos on Sunday, November 16, Travis and his team will face the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, November 23, at Arrowhead Stadium.
Will Sophie and her teammate and Kansas City fan, Caitlin Clark, be there?
