Simone Biles is no stranger to being in the spotlight, but lately, her game-day outfits have been creating a buzz for all the right-and sometimes wrong-reasons. The 4’8″ superstar, known for her electrifying routines, has also become a standout on the NFL sidelines with her custom looks supporting her husband.
When style meets support
In an interview with Olympics.com, Simone revealed her unique approach to game-day fashion. Despite her flawless appearances, she admitted she doesn’t take the reins in designing her outfits. “I reach out to some of the creators that make the apparel, and I have no ideas. I let them kind of freeball it, and I say, ‘Surprise me,'” she shared.
Her ensembles often include a personal nod to Owens, like his jersey number or name, blending her love for fashion with her unwavering support for her husband. For the Bears’ game against the Detroit Lions on December 22, Simone rocked a chic look featuring a sparkly “36” on her black shirt, paired with a Prada bucket hat, puffer coat, and $1,390 Prada ski boots.
But Simone hinted at an even bigger surprise for the upcoming game against the Seattle Seahawks on December 27, saying, “My favorite one so far is one that I have at home, and I’m wearing it to Thursday’s game.” Fans can only speculate about what she has planned for the Soldier Field crowd.
Past missteps
While Biles is a style icon, even she isn’t immune to controversy. Earlier this year, she faced backlash for wearing a Green Bay Packers jacket to a Bears preseason game. Owens had recently signed with the Bears after playing for the Packers in 2023, and the rival team gear didn’t sit well with fans.
Photos of Biles in the jacket, featuring images of Owens in his Packers uniform and the team’s logo, quickly went viral. Critics called the outfit “insensitive,” with one fan even urging her to “throw that jacket in the trash.”
Simone, however, took it in stride. Laughing off the backlash, she assured fans, “I have plenty [of Bears gear] now! So don’t you worry, guys.”
