When Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles visited Louisiana State University (LSU), she anticipated reconnecting with friends and exploring the campus. However, an unexpected encounter with LSU’s live tiger mascot, Mike VII, left her both astonished and delighted. Sharing her experience on social media, Biles expressed her amazement upon seeing the majestic animal up close.
During her visit, Biles aimed to surprise LSU gymnast Zoe Miller, a freshman and member of the women’s national team. However, Miller had already discovered Biles’ plans by tracking her location, leading to a playful exchange between the two athletes. The duo later shared photos wearing matching hoodies, showcasing their close bond.
Biles also took the opportunity to meet with the LSU gymnastics team, who are currently striving for their first national title. The team, led by standout all arounder Haleigh Bryant, has achieved record breaking performances this season, positioning them as strong contenders in collegiate gymnastics.
Biles has been in the spotlight and has joined Religion of Sports (ROS) as a creative partner and board member. Co-founded by Tom Brady, Michael Strahan and filmmaker Gotham Chopra, ROS will benefit from Biles’ experience in producing and directing projects. Her involvement comes at a time when the sports entertainment industry is undergoing significant change.
Biles, always a strong role model for young college gymnasts, continues to be a positive force in the world of sports and never stops being amazed by life. Her genuine excitement during the encounter with Mike VII and her warm interactions with the LSU community only deepened the connection she shares with them.
