Ashton Jeanty is one of the names that has attracted the most attention ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.

The former Boise State standout had a season to remember last year for the Broncos, finishing as Heisman Trophy runner-up after one of the greatest seasons by a running back in the history of college football.

His performance was so good that he fell just 27 yards short of breaking Barry Sanders’ collegiate rushing record of 2,628 yards. Jeanty’s play helped the Broncos secure an opening round bye in the College Football Playoff.

It came as a surprise to no-one that Jeanty opted to make the jump to the NFL by declaring for the draft, where he is expected to be taken in the first round. In fact, recent reports have suggested he is certain to be taken in the Top 10, with the Chicago Bears holding the 10th overall pick.

Jeanty to the Bears?

Regardless of who drafts the electrifying running back, Jeanty is expected to make his mark wherever he plays.

However, one NFL analyst believes Jeanty could make his mark in the NFL record books if the Bears bring him to Chicago.

Ashton Jeanty gonna break (Eric) Dickerson’s rookie rushing record if he can get to a place like Chicago with that OL,” ESPN’s Louis Riddick tweeted.

It should be noted that Eric Dickerson holds the NFL rookie record for ushing attempts (390), rushing yards (1,808) and rushing touchdowns (18). Jeanty would be aided by the fact that the NFL schedule now features one more game, but hitting any of those marks in his career – let alone his rookie season – would be quite the accomplishment.

Chicago are viewed by many as a potential dark horse next season after making several upgrades, not only to their offensive line, but to their coaching staff as well.

Ben Johnson is now at the helm and known to be a big fan of the running game, as the Detroit Lions ranked in the top 11 in yards and top three in touchdowns in each of his three seasons as the team’s offensive coordinator.
