Shilo Sanders recently caught public attention after reacting to his younger brother Shedeur‘s charitable efforts in Cleveland as the backup quarterback for the Browns, has become recognized for community service.
Since being selected 144th overall in the fifth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, he has worked his way up to be the QB2 on the roster behind Dillon Gabriel, but much of his impact has come away from the Huntington Bank Field.
Most recently, the 23-year-old partnered with Drive Point Auto Group, Kia, Hyundai of Bedford, and Fox8 to provide a free car to someone in need – an initiative aiming to reward individuals making a positive difference in their communities.
“I’m looking for difference makers in the community,” Sanders said. “So help me find that person that’s always looking out for others but deserves to be blessed as well.”
Encouraging nominations through Shedeur’s social media platforms, the campaign drew attention when Shilo jokingly asked, “How do we enter?” in the comments section of his brother’s Instagram post.
Shedeur’s Instagram announcement read: “CAR GIVE AWAY…..DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE THAT MAKES A DIFFERENCE TO THE PEOPLE AROUND THEM? NOMINATE A DESERVING PERSON TODAY!”
The post highlighted his commitment to community impact while engaging fans in the process. Shilo, meanwhile, has previously displayed similar playful gestures.
During his brief tenure with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he surprised a KFC employee named Connie Knight by paying for her day off, noting the shared name with his grandmother.
“My dad always says he doesn’t want his mom (Connie Knight) to work anymore,” Shilo explained. “So today you are not going to work anymore; I got you.”
This act mirrored the family’s emphasis on supporting loved ones, something their father has driven into them throughout their lives.
Shilo also maintains a humorous approach toward his own setbacks. After being released by the Buccaneers, he joked about lacking funds for a youth camp donation, “I just got cut from NFL. Bro, I don’t got no money.”
Despite this, he directed the children to his brother for assistance, showing trust in Shedeur’s charitable involvement.

Shilo’s NFL prospects remain open as the Dallas Cowboys, seeking secondary reinforcement, could consider signing him due to defensive depth concerns.
Similarly, the Cincinnati Bengals might explore acquiring him to bolster their defensive roster but for now, nothing is currently in motion ahead of the November 4 deadline.
Whilst for Shedeur, he will be on the bench for the Browns when they take on Drake Maye‘s New England Patriots on Sunday, October 26 from 13:00 ET/10:00 PT.
He is behind Dillon Gabriel in the Cleveland pecking order as they head to the Gillette Stadium in Massachusetts but could get onto the field if an injury occurs to his fellow QB.
