This Sunday a new season will kick off for theCleveland Browns, where there are more questions than answers-especially at the quarterback position, where Joe Flacco will start as the QB1. It will be his 18th season in the NFL, where he has had a solid career, but this year patience will be short for the Delaware product.
Especially because behind him are two rookies, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders, who will have to be evaluated throughout the season. The upcoming NFL Draft will be full of quarterback talent, unlike this past year when only Cam Ward and Jaxson Dart were taken in the first round.
The Cleveland Browns have been linked with Arch Manning, who just debuted as a full-time starter with the Texas Longhorns-and didn’t do very well-so doubts have started to arise. Perhaps the Browns are no longer thinking about Manning, since he has the option to return for another year in the NCAA.
The Cleveland Browns may be targeting LaNorris Sellers
The South Carolina Gamecocks quarterback is coming off a great 2024 season with more than 2,500 passing yards and 674 rushing yards, earning honors such as SEC Freshman of the Year. NFL scouts have started to take notice of him, and Pro Football Focus (PFF) ranks him among the top 10 draft-eligible quarterbacks and one of the favorites heading into next season.
Sellers will be eligible for the 2026 Draft. He has the size, physical tools, mobility, and a strong arm. NFL analyst Tony Grossi has even linked the Gamecocks quarterback with the Cleveland Browns:
“Just a great person to be the face of your franchise. To me, LaNorris Sellers is the guy,” Grossi said.
There’s still a long way to go in this season, which is just about to begin. However, with two first-round draft picks, the Browns are sure to be linked with different quarterbacks-unless Dillon Gabriel or Shedeur Sanders deliver a major surprise.
