We’re less than two months away from the start of the 2025 NFL season, and the Cleveland Browns have become a true spectacle. This is nothing new – since 1999, the Ohio franchise has had only four winning seasons, and the potential they once showed has slowly been squandered.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski has led the team to the playoffs twice, but now it seems his job is on the line. At the moment, the Browns lack clarity at many offensive positions – they don’t know who their starting quarterback will be, and with the domestic violence case involving Quishon Judkins, the running game is also uncertain.

When it comes to the quarterback position, recent reports suggest that Kenny Pickett – the one who has received the least media attention – could actually end up winning the starting job, ahead of Joe Flacco and, of course, rookies Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders.

Insider, Shedeur Sanders could have a big opportunity

During OTAs and minicamp, Shedeur Sanders performed well. However, he was the only one of the four competing quarterbacks who did not get a single snap with the first-team offense. That, however, could change.

According to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com, there may be reason to believe that Sanders – based on his performance a month ago – could begin to climb the depth chart and even surprise everyone by winning the starting job.

“The good news for Sanders, the Browns’ fifth-round pick out of Colorado, is that he played so well over the final two weeks of spring ball that he’ll come back for training camp with a legitimate shot to compete for the starting job, at least early on,” wrote Cabot.

The Reality? It will be tough for Shedeur Sanders to be the starter in Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals. Still, it’s worth remembering that he was once projected to be a first-round pick – so what happens in Browns training camp will be very interesting to watch.
