The 2025 NFL Draft is set to change the lives of hundreds of football players. There isn’t much that’s set in stone in regard to what’s going to happen. The only pick that appears to be a sure thing is the Tennessee Titans taking Cam Ward with the first overall pick. But even starting with the Cleveland Browns at No. 2, anything can happen. The range of outcomes for that pick seems very broad, with Travis Hunter or Abdul Carter being the considerations if the Browns stay and pick there.
There was a time where Shedeur Sanders was a favorite to be the Browns’ selection at No. 2, but that is no longer the case. In fact, there are murmurs that Sanders could fall out of the first round. The pre-draft process has not been kind to Sanders, as his on-field ability has been picked apart and his character and personality has been questioned extensively. Some would say it’s gone too far. For NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt, it has gotten out of control.

Appearing on Good Morning Football, Brandt took a flamethrower to Sanders’ critics, particularly one “anonymous NFL assistant coach” who had a scathing assessment of Sanders. Brandt was “triggered as hell” by the comments and came out to strongly defend Sanders.
Brandt was perturbed by a coach hiding behind the anonymous tag and delivering “tasteless” comments. He believes the coach was using hyperbole by calling Sanders’ interview the worst he’s ever been a part of. And he was particularly upset by the timing of the quote coming out, mere days before the draft begins.
Sanders may not be a perfect prospect, but there has been nothing but negative news surrounding him in the recent leadup to the draft. There’s a bit of shadiness about it all.
