Shedeur Sanders isn’t losing sleep over the noise surrounding his draft stock. Once in the conversation for the No. 1 overall pick, the Colorado Buffaloes quarterback has seen his name slide in mock drafts.

Cam Ward now appears to be the favorite to go first, and some analysts project Sanders could drop out of the top 10 entirely. But if you ask him, none of it matters.

In his usual confident style, Sanders addressed the chatter head-on. Speaking on his YouTube channel, he explained that while people might not always like what he says, he’s not about to change for anyone.

“I truly don’t care about speaking like that,” he said.

“It was definitely something I had to do because of the new product-the new everything that’s about to come out with them. It’s truly exciting, though.”

Sanders has been clear in his NFL interviews

As the draft approaches, Sanders has made waves for his upfront approach during interviews with NFL teams. While some see it as arrogance, Sanders sees it as honesty.

“When I go visit these coaches and franchises, I ask them what I really think and how I feel,” he said during a recent appearance on The Insiders on NFL Network.

“Some get offended, some like it, some don’t. But they know exactly what kind of player-and person-they’re getting with me.”

Rather than putting on a front, Sanders is using the pre-draft process to evaluate teams as much as they’re evaluating him. It’s all about finding a mutual fit, he says.

Still, his resume speaks for itself. Sanders threw for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns, and just 10 interceptions last season, helping Colorado to a bowl game. He’s been linked to the New Orleans Saints (No. 9) and Pittsburgh Steelers (No. 21), but no matter where he ends up, the quarterback is clear on one thing: his game will speak louder than any headline.

“I know what I bring to the table.”
