The 2025 NFL Draft is two weeks away and nearing quickly. There’s still some uncertainty around the top of the draft, but the stars are beginning to align for Cam Ward to be the first player taken, with the Tennessee Titans considered the heavy favorite to be the team picking him.

Then come the Cleveland Browns, who are in an odd position given their holes on the roster. Their biggest hole could very well be at quarterback, but there are some incredible talents that will be available to them at No. 2. That means that while Shedeur Sanders is an option, a generational talent like Travis Hunter might make more sense. Therein lies the front office’s conundrum.

Cleveland Browns deciding between Travis Hunter and Shedeur Sanders, but there’s a favorite

According to a recent report from Fox Sports’ Jordan Schultz, the Browns are still deciding what to do at No. 2. They have a “favorite”, but it’s not completely set in stone.

Most reports have pointed to Hunter being the second overall pick in just a couple of weeks’ time. Sanders is still in contention, though. The Browns are in a very precarious position due to the uncertainty surrounding Deshaun Watson. They invested a jaw-dropping amount of assets into the former Pro Bowl QB, only to see him heavily disappoint on the field and then tear his Achilles last season.

That would make them prime contenders to draft a franchise quarterback, especially since they’re drafting so high. But Sanders has question marks, and Hunter is a unique talent. That could be enough for Cleveland to punt on the quarterback position until further notice.
