Larsa Pippen is no stranger to making headlines. This time, some new words about her split with Marcus Jordan-son of NBA great Michael Jordan– is showing her deep, personal side. Larsa said a key voice in her decision to break up was her son, NBA player Scotty Pippen Jr.
On the first show of ‘The Real Housewives of Miami‘ season 7, Larsa talked about her breaking point. After a lot of public, on-and-off love, she said her kids were worried. Scotty Pippen Jr., in a big way, showed some tough love. “” Larsa said her kids told her. “That’s when I was like, ‘I need to get away from the situation. My kids think that it’s not good for me.‘”
Red flags and reality
The love had hard bits to deal with, as Larsa is the past wife of Chicago Bulls star Scottie Pippen, and Marcus is the son of Scottie’s old team pal and later rival, Michael Jordan. For basketball fans, the match was odd at best, bad at worst. But for Larsa’s kids, it was more than just what people saw. The tie to the Jordan family brought back hard times tied to their dad’s tricky bond with Michael, a thing that made the mess dirtier.
Larsa also saw early red flags she first ignored. Once, a camera caught a woman going into Marcus’ place, a sign Larsa first missed but then saw as a warning. Their ways of life also clashed. “When we would go out, he would like to be the very last person in the club. I mean, like, there’s no one there but the janitors,” she said on the show. Larsa, who now puts her kids and her privacy first, felt they were moving apart.
Tried too hard to fix something broken
Even after backing the love for months, she at last said it hurt her and her family. “I fought everyone to be with this guy and then it was not a good situation for me and my family,” she said. “So, I had to remove myself from it.”
The hurt was still there when RHOM started filming. In a real talk, Larsa told her mom she was shy to keep talking about the split on camera. But in private, she was getting ready for a new start. She confirmed the final split from Marcus in July 2024 and now dates Jeff Coby, a past pro basketball player and writer.
Jeff Coby was and her oasis
Not like her rocky time with Marcus, Larsa finds her link with Coby calming. “I feel like he’s teaching me how to be calm in my day-to-day life and just take things one day at a time,” she told PEOPLE in June 2025. They share deep values like being aware, calm, and balanced in feeling.
In the end, it might have taken fame, friction, and family help to see clear, but Larsa Pippen’s story is now more than just news noise. It’s about growth, limits-and hearing your kids when they spot what you don’t.
