World number one Scottie Scheffler will return to action this week at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am after the”stupid” injury he suffered to his hand on Christmas Day. The golfer, who in 2024 won the Masters, the Players Championship and Olympic gold in Paris, needed surgery after severely cutting the palm of his right hand with a broken wine glass.
Scheffler believes the surgery will not have a negative effect on his game. “Not at all,” he said. “It’s one of those times where right after it happened I got mad at myself because I thought ‘God, it’s so stupid’. It wasn’t actually terrible, but I knew I’d made a mistake because my hand wasn’t moving much and if I did move it, it hurt a lot. So I knew something was going on.”

Although Scheffler has missed two tournaments due to the injury, he does not plan to add any tournaments to his schedule. “Missing those two events is not fun because I enjoy playing them,” he said. “But just because I skipped two doesn’t mean I want to change my schedule.”
Pau Gasol will play the Pro-Am
