Jared Verse is in the crosshairs. The Los Angeles Rams linebacker has never hidden his hatred for the Philadelphia Eagles fans; however, he may have gone too far this time. Just as Saquon Barkley warned him, attacking the fans of the team you are about to visit in the NFL playoffs is not the best idea.
Rams and Eagles will clash this Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in a game for the Divisional Round of the 2024 season. Hours before the kickoff, Verse could not contain himself, launching strong statements against the Eagles fans.
“I hate Eagles fans. They’re so annoying,”Verse told the Los Angeles Times this past Thursday. Verse seemed to forget that he was about to step onto someone else’s field, where he’d be at the mercy of the opposing crowd, but Barkley didn’t miss the opportunity to remind him.

Barkley has been there, but he hasn’t done that
Saquon Barkley came to the Eagles this year from the New York Giants, so he knew exactly what he was talking about when he responded to Verse by saying, “Probably not the smartest thing to say when you’re coming to Philadelphia.”
The star running back recalled, “I’ve been on the other side, and even if I felt some type of way, probably wouldn’t give them any extra fuel.” Furthermore, Barkley said the team’s fans already know about the linebacker’s comments and won’t forgive him on game day.
“Pretty sure Phillyfans have seen that comment. It was already going to be loud and rocking, so it’s only going to add to it,” the running back said, noting that Lincoln Financial Field is one of the loudest stadiums in the NFL.
The story behind Verse’s hatred
The Rams linebacker’s bad relationship with the Eagles fans is not new. Verse grew up in Pennsylvania and attended Central Columbia High School in Bloomsburg, so he knows what he’s talking about.
Plus, the feeling is mutual. This past November, when Philadelphia visited SoFi Stadium to face Los Angeles, Verse said he could hear the visiting fans’ taunts, even with his headphones on. “I didn’t even do nothing to ’em,” he assured.
Although the player did not reveal what the opposing fans were yelling at him, we will have the opportunity to find out this Sunday, when these two teams face each other for a ticket to the NFC Championship Game.
