It’s one of the best times of the year for golf. Following The Players Championship, which was won by Cameron Young, The Masters is right around the corner.
McIlroy went all-out for his dinner menu. On April 9-12, the best golfers in the world will compete at Augusta National for the right to wear the iconic green jacket.
Rory McIlroy will be looking to repeat as a Masters champion, aiming to become only the fourth player to accomplish that feat – alongside Jack Nicklaus, Nick Faldo and Tiger Woods. But before the golfing begins, McIlroy will be hosting the Masters Champions Dinner, which is an annual tradition.
Rory McIlroy’s Masters Club Dinner menu has so much variety
On Wednesday, McIlroy’s menu for the dinner was revealed. It’s safe to say that it’s an extravagant and eclectic menu, with plenty of choices for his fellow peers.
- Appetizer: Peach & Ricotta Flatbread / Rock Shrimp Tempura / Bacon-Wrapped Dates / Grilled Elk Sliders
- First Course: Yellowfin Tuna Carpaccio
- Main Course: Wagyu Filet Mignon / Seared Salmon
- Dessert: Sticky Toffee Pudding with Vanilla Ice Cream
It’s nice of McIlroy to give his fellow champions options to choose from, especially since professional athletes are generally on strict diets. Not every Masters winner has done a similar thing.
McIlroy’s elaborate menu led to CBS Sports’ Patrick McDonald harkening to Bubba Watson’s menu for the Masters Champions Dinner. Watson’s was as straightforward as it gets, with no choices throughout a simple three-course meal.
- Appetizer: Traditional Caesar Salad
- Main Course: Grilled Chicken Breast with Green Beans, Mashed Potatoes, Corn, Macaroni & Cheese and Cornbread
- Dessert: Confetti Cake with Vanilla Ice Cream
Watson’s menu might pale in comparison to McIlroy’s in terms of variety, but for many, simple is better.
